Pressure Washer Pump Repairs

If the pressure washer pump has been run for some time without enough oil in the pump, the gearbox end of the pump will start to get hot and warn, this can cause both the main crank shaft to bend out of correct line and the con rods to be stretched, as well as damage the oil seals and the main pump seals, keeping a check on your pressure washer pump oil is always a good idea to give your pressure washer a long life.

When the crank shaft and con rods become damaged they will need replacing and this can be done on many pumps in the same way, this is how it is done on the series 66 interpumps, which includes ws102 and ws201 which is the one shown here.

  1. Firstly remove the rear cover with the rear cover on top and the pump head on the bench.

  2. Pour the oil in to a container, if this is clear then it can be used again, but most likely if the pressure washer pump has been run hot then this will not be the case.

  3. Remove the six allen keys and the rear of the con rod, keep these in the correct order, if you are not replacing that one.

  4. Push all the conn rods as far as you can in to the pump head

  5. Tap the crank shaft through towards the male shafted end, use a hammer shaft to push this through, the bearing on the male shafted end will come out with the shaft.

  6. Once this has come free remove and replace as required, you should now have reasonable access to the conn rods to replace them as well.

  7. Reassemble pump in reverse order.
